Waipiʻo Valley Health Fair

Social Service Navigators, Brittney Martinez and Kaʻuilani Lagaret, participated in the Waipiʻo Valley Health Fair, hosted by Chauncey and Tiffany Hatico, both multi-generational descendants of Waipiʻo and leaseholders of Ku’u ʻOhana Farm. They collaborated with organizations from across Hawaiʻi Island to provide essential resources to Waipiʻo residents.

Together, they assembled 50 “emergency buckets” filled with vital supplies, including toilet paper, first aid kits, hygiene products, and flashlights, which were distributed to over 30 registered participants.

We are grateful to Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies and the Outreach Team at Hāmākua Kohala Health Center for their vital role in making this project a success.

"This Health Fair has opened up so many wonderful connections not just in the Waipi’o community, but also within our professional network. I look forward to continue this great work and assist our communities in creating a more VIBRANT Hawaiʻi", Brittney Martinez, Social Service Navigator
