The Kohala Resilience Hub started their first Chainsaw team with Vibrant Hawaiʻi and Arbor Global. On September 4th and 5th, 2024 in North Kohala, a total of 8 students learned about safety measures and how to use a chainsaw. Vibrant Hawaiʻi provided the team with safety gear and chainsaws for each of them. This team will be activated by the Kohala Resilience Hub in the event of an emergency.

Having these 8 team members both chainsaw trained and certified will open doors for the community as we are now equipped and prepared to serve our community. The team will continue to practice their skills, maintain gear and equipment quarterly as we intend to further the teams involvement within the Kohala community.

“We are in good hands with our new Kohala Resilience Hub Chainsaw Team. “
