On October 12, 2024, Vibrant Hawaiʻi partnered with the Department of Land & Natural Resources (DLNR) to facilitate community listening sessions in Hilo and Kona, creating a valuable opportunity for open dialogue between DLNR and the Hawaiʻi Island community. Each session began with an introduction to the various divisions within DLNR, followed by lively Q&A. Conversations about our cherished ʻāina are vital to the people of Hawaiʻi, and events like these foster collaboration and unity, allowing the community to come together in a spirit of cooperation rather than division.
We extend our gratitude to the DLNR team for coming to Hawaiʻi Island to provide our communities with a platform to be heard. We look forward to continuing this spirit of collaboration as we prioritize the stewardship of our lands, waters, ʻiwi kupuna, and wahi pana. Together, we can honor and protect our shared heritage for future generations.
