At the start of this year, we launched the ʻOAKA Art Fellowship through a generous grant from the National Endowment of the Arts, bringing together 12 talented young adults from across the island, with skills spanning from visual arts to performing arts. Each gathering is enriched by insightful guest speakers, offering our fellows valuable knowledge on how to cultivate and sustain their artistic careers.
We extend a heartfelt mahalo to Kaulana Mahina, Kerry Green of Moonsun Art Gallery, Carolyn Kauliʻi, and Karen Chang Bar for sharing their expertise and inspiring our youth. We are excited to continue growing this program and to further support the next generation of artists on Hawaiʻi Island.
